Mary Jo Sinclair, C.P.M.

1930-2011

Under the leadership of Carlton Parker, the 1989 PPANCT President, the Mary Jo Sinclair Scholarship Program was established.  At that time, entities provided time off to members to attend professional development seminars and training, but entities did not have the funds available to cover related expenses.  Additionally, entities did not have funds available for members to purchase educational materials.  PPANCT members were forced to pay out-of-pocket for professional development, and to pursue purchasing certifications.  Therefore, the basis for establishing the scholarship program was to assist members with these out-of-pocket expenses.

The scholarship program was presented to the Board, and over a three month period, the Board worked out the details of the program guidelines and application.  Mary Jo Sinclair was the speaker at the monthly meeting where the scholarship program was presented to the membership for approval.   Mary Jo and Carlton sat together at the head table that evening, and when the scholarship program was presented to the membership, Carlton proposed that the scholarship program be named after Mary Jo Sinclair, one of the founding members and the first President of PPANCT.

PPANCT is proud to continue the Mary Jo Sinclair Scholarship Program that was established by the great leaders before us.  The Mary Jo Sinclair Scholarship is available to all PPANCT members for professional development and educational materials, and can be awarded at any time throughout the year.
